Spanish professor at the College-Lycee La Mennais in Papeete
will reveal the life and the contacts of the early Spaniards
in Oceania and the Marquesas. It was Alvaro de Mendana,
a Spaniard in 1595 who discovered the islands that he later
named the Marquesas. Some of publications are:
"Les Espagnols aux Marquises" and "Reel et fantastique dans
le recit de trios voyages espangnois en Oceanie aux XVI et XVII
siecles". |
