Patrick Baton

|
Musician, conductor, professor of conductors at the Royal Conservatory
of Music of Liege, Patrick Baton is holder of the aggregation
of Philisophy and Letters from the University of Liege.
He is considered as one of the most knowledgeable expert of
Jacques Brel’s works. He has published many works
on Jacques Brel (Jacques Brel, L’imagination de L’impossible,
Ed. Labor, Bruxelles, 2003; Brel au Maroc,
Ed. La Croisee des Chemins, Casablanca, 2003, Jacques Brel:
quelque accessible etoile d’un univers sonore, in
Le Carnet et les Instants, Bruxelles, 2003…).
He participated in many events and international colloquiums
on the artist. He directed and recorded the revival of
the musical comedy “L’homme de la Mancha”,
with the baritone Jose van Dam in the main role, with the French
arrangement of Jacques Brel. He has also been director
of 10 radio programs “Brel, aimer jusqu’a la dechirure”
for the 20th anniversary of Jacques Brel’s death, for
the Community of French Speaking Public Radios (Radio et Television
Belge Francophone, Radio Suisse romande, France Inter, Radio
Canada).
